NOTE: On March 14, 2022 the Governor of California signed emergency legislation allowing UC Berkeley to bring in the full contingent of intended new students. This legislation protects the university from the environmental law utilized by their neighbors to try to reduce UC Berkeley’s footprint. Most likely, this does not temper the neighbor’s interpretation that the university is impinging on their lives.
